The Rock'en Ray song, Shot Down, is a true story from when I got my first car. As you may have guessed, my first car was very special. For me, it was a huge deal, because all my friends already had cars long before me. I was so happy, my first car - bald tires, but it had something special to it.

My friends and I use to enjoy going down to the pit and smoke out our tires, do donuts along with other very mischievous things. The pit was a back lot to a construction company near the port. It was empty most of the time, because the heavy building equipment was at the construction site. When it rained, it was a muddy mess, because the heavy construction equipment left deep ditches in the dirt. Thus, we named it the Pit, but when the dirt was dry - it was a blast.

Then one night, the pit was off limits. Something was up, because that night there was a security guard there who chased us away. We didn't think much of it and went about our usual business. Big mistake. Seem the security guard call the cops, and they were hot on our trail long before we knew it.

Then it happened. Me and my gal were sitting at a red light when I noticed a copy on my ass. I thought to myself, "Play it cool!" When I turned to my girlfriend, she was taking a sip of her beer in full sight of the officer. I revved up my engine to take his attention off her, but it was too late. The chase was on. When the light turned green, I took off - I left the police car in my dust. However, when the officer caught up to me and hit his lights, I pulled over knowing that I would never get away. The officer was very cool. He made us dump out the rest of our beer and that was it. His exact words were, "I know what it's like to be young and in love!"
