My friends and I enjoyed going to rock concerts. We would present the Devil Horns and flash a cigarette lighter throughout the concert. Time and time again, I discovered that most people do not really know the correct way to produce the Devil Horns. Doing it with the back of your had out means Bull Shit - or at least that what it meant when I was growing up.

In teaching my friends how to make the Devil Horns the discussion always came up - what would we do if we came face to face with the Devil. Over the years, as I met new Rock N' Roll friends, I would always ask them "What would you do?" I loved the ending of Jack Black's movie "Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny" when he and the Devil had the showdown. He of course had the Pick of Destiny, but forgot that the Devil is one bad ass mother ray-ray that will never lose a showdown.

As I embarked on what I would do and in putting it down on paper - the "Whisper to the Devil" song was born. Going back to my youth, my Mother would always tell me when I got to loud, that my singing and guitar playing should be no louder than a whisper. This was because my dad was watching football or some shit and didn't want to be disturbed. Thus, I used that in my title "Whisper to the Devil!"

So, remember when you pass on and come face to face with the Devil from a long life of partying all night long and listening to Rock N' Roll:
