Cry Heart
The Rock'en Ray song, Cry Heart, is dedicated to my Mother, Nancy G. Province. She was there for me at birth and played a very important part in
my musical career. This song was originally written for my first true love. It was a short summer romance - my first so I will never forget it.
However; as we parted, I felt as if my heart was going to burst into tears. Thus, I came up with the title Cry Heart, but the lyrics didn't really
have much meaning. I was young and still not aware of what a truly broken heart felt like.

Over the years I tried to come up with better lyrics, but with each broken heart - I failed, because I just grew tired of it all. I had
the title and the tune, just nothing that really cried out "Oh baby you broke my heart!"
As time marched on, many of my family members had passed away. With each passing, I reflected back in time and wondered where did the time go. After my Mother
passed away, I started to understand a lot more about what it means to be sad. I cried to the point where I was out of tears. In addition to a broken heart, I
felt a void where her love once was. Trying to put that into words seemed impossible at the time.
Then on that one special day, I found an old familiar baby picture - cute as a button. It was a picture of me on the very first day I entered into this crazy
world. I thought to my self "My mother took a picture of me - the day that I was born!" Thus, the Cry Heart song was born, it was perfect. From that day on,
it took me only a few weeks to write the lyrics and compose the music.
